June 15 Ingonish NS

Left Baddeck this morning and moseyed our way up the Cabot Trail, here to Ingonish and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.  Before we checked into our room though, we drove further up the Cabot Trail, past Ingonish Beach up to White Point NS and over to Mary Ann Falls in the park.
It was a windy chilly misty rainy day, much like what it sounds like it is at home.  We still managed to play outside a wee bit, cranking up the defrost and heat when we got back in the car.  It was 10°C most of the day.  It is pretty remote up here not a lot of people and imagining it in winter... makes it seem even further. Beautiful though.  Green green green and we saw banks today that could have easily been in Ireland.  The changes in elevation along the road are pretty dramatic too!  One section rose 250 meters in about a half a kilometre! Wow!!  Happy that the traffic is very minimal.
Tomorrow we head back down towards Halifax and Liscombe Mills as our stay in the small provinces nears an end.

Today's pics.

Surprise!  Neil's Harbour lighthouse!
Watching lobster traps being checked.
Can you see him?
Raindrops and a Hermit Thrush.
Steam rising from the highway... yes it was only 10 degrees.
Black Backed Gull (HUGE) found a stream of fresh water and took a long deep bath!
Skinny and wet!
Beside some rapids!
