Finding Newfoundland! June 19

Plus a few images from June 18 that I was slow to process...
We arrived in St John's at 2:00 (benefits of air miles flights) this morning and got a few hours sleep before having the breakfast included benefit of this bed and breakfast.  It was yummy and interesting to meet with a few souls from England and Australia.  Of course the conversations were all about travel and we enlightened them as much as we could about things they may see on their excursions across Canada.  Plus I was able to assist them with understanding the term "American"  they were aware of the fact that Canada is the second largest geographical land mass, so the lesson was quick! Ah!
Signal Hill.
St John's from Signal Hill
Looking back to Cape Spear from the top of Signal Hill!
Next we headed off to retrieve our rental car. Apparently if you don't book one in January you likely won't get one here and if you do book one you may not get what you book.  We had our choice of a Dodge Charger or a Chrysler 300.  Those were our choices for our "small" car.  The Charger looked a bit smaller so we are driving a Charger - well Randy is and I'm navigating.  Today was a good day to get our bearings being Sunday although downtown was filled with motorcycles out enjoying the first warm day seen in these parts and the two tourist locations (Cape Spear and Signal Hill) we went to were jamb packed with tourists like us and locals who were happy to be out in the sun.  It was 22°C.  There were many comments on the near 100k winds - I thought I might liftoff a time or two - but the recent fish n chips and other assorted meals ensured the I remained grounded!
Enough words... here's a few pics.

Happy Father's Day!  Dodging it!
Yay!  We found low tide on the south side of the Bay of Fundy across from the Hopewell Rocks!  Way Cool!
Everyone was excited to head out onto the ocean's floor!
In case we don't see lupins along the road in NF :)
What?? Another lighthouse?  Yes! On the south side of the Bay of Fundy!
Waiting for our flight to St John's and we spotted the full Moon!  Can you see it?
REAL ICEBERGS!! In the bay, just like in the ads!
Wild Unforgiving Atlantic!
One of the streets we found, there are a few like this near downtown.  This one was by ice-cream cones!
Berg Spotting!
Cape Spear Lighthouse!
Zoom zoom zoom!
Awesome home fries!  This was behind the counter!
Good Night!
We are off to see whales and puffins tomorrow and maybe more icebergs!
